Hello friends, Welcome to my blog. I’m from Kentucky but also lived in Texas, Nashville, TN to Tampa Bay where I am now, I’ve lived throughout the south and have an appreciation for southern hospitality and charm.
My deeper dive into the holistic and natural health arena has come, like many from a long battle with chronic illness. It was back in 2015 while living in Nashville, TN that I began to realize that something was wrong with my health despite living what I thought was a healthy lifestyle. I already ate mostly organic food and I worked out almost every day. But despite that, I had increasing problems with digestive issues, low blood sugar, insomnia, panic attacks like I’d never had before that felt uncontrollable, and then debilitating chronic fatigue came that zapped my energy to do life.
Traditional western medicine didn’t help, I went to multiple physician’s assistants and doctors who acted like they didn’t believe me when I told them my symptoms. The doctors I went to of course simply offered to slap medications onto symptoms instead of searching for a root cause. The first 5 years of sickness I spent going through the medical system I was misdiagnosed.
I moved to Florida for a new job during a time when I was doing a little better health wise. Then after a year of red tide my symptoms got stronger again but this time I had new symptoms activated. I spent most of 2019 searching again going to various doctors with no answers, feeling miserable until finally in fall of 2019 I stepped outside the traditional medical establishment and went to a functional doctor for the first time. That’s when I got a diagnosis of CIRS – Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome which in layman’s terms it’s an autoimmune condition around mold. Apparently, that old historic 12th South renthouse in Nashville that I loved so much had triggered my illness. So, I was now on a better track but after 2 years of dietary changes & detox protocols I didn’t see enough improvement and some of my symptoms were getting worse so Spring of 2022 I set out to find a new doctor again. That’s when I found Orthomolecular Wellness, the holistic clinic I go to now.
Finally in January of this year 2023, they ran a test with Vibrant Wellness that’s more accurate and I got an official diagnosis of Lyme disease and co-infections. I had known through alternative testing like kinesiology for about a year but this made it an official blood diagnosis so I was mentally prepared. It has been Lyme disease in addition to mold illness all this time.
I hope anyone who listens to this who has a chronic health condition is encouraged to know that there’s healing out there. You can heal! It does require stepping out of the traditional medical system and looking for a root cause instead of masking symptoms with medications that only create more symptoms. The truth is God has provided us with herbs, minerals, nutrition and prayer to give us healing. Your doctor isn’t the ultimate authority on your health because God is the Great Physician and you are the only one who knows your body best because you are the only one in it. If I hadn’t kept searching, I would probably be labeled with something like MS right now thinking that there is no way out. Seek and you will find.
I plan to share about different treatments & therapies I’ve been doing on this blog. If you are interested in learning more or following my health journey then you can join me here. I’ll be sharing health tips I’ve learned & treatments you may not have heard of when I can. If it can help someone else that makes it worth it to me.
I believe that God can take bad situations and turn them into good. I want to be able to help others now by sharing what I’ve learned on my journey to health.
If you’re interested in living a healthier, cleaner lifestyle through natural remedies, you are in the right place. This blog will have an emphasis on detoxing our lives weather it’s through purifying our home environment from toxins, cleaner eating, mindfulness, herbal remedies or a clean, organic skincare routine.
